Advocacy: Ronald McDonald Read to Learn is one of the flagship programs of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines (RMHC), the charity of choice of McDonald’s Philippines. In partnership with the Department of Education, Ronald McDonald Read to Learn is a beginning reading program for grade 1 & 2 students in public schools. Read to Learn aims to improve the literacy skills of Filipino students while they are the beginning stage of learning.

ICSPHW 2016, with a theme, entitled “P.E. Plus: Retooling Physical Education and School Sports for Inclusion, Development and Competition,” was held from November 18 to 20, 2016, at the Celebrity Sports Plaza and the UP Diliman campus, in Quezon City.
Equipped with meaningful and substantial lectures and training from distinguished sports scholars from all over the world, including the Philippines, the conference highlighted the importance of games, play, and physical activity for the development of students. It attracted P.E. teachers, coaches, instructors, trainers, managers, students, athletes and sports advocates.
Presented by beverage brand MILO Philippines, the conference had a bevy of 20+ foreign and local speakers and has been endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and the Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS), among other institutions.
“We at MILO believe that active students are active learners; and that physical activity can help improve performance in the classroom. For years, MILO’s grassroots sports programs have contributed to giving Filipino youth a fit and healthy lifestyle,” said Robbie De Vera, MILO Sports Executive. “MILO’s support for ICSPHW 2016 solidified our commitment to empower sports and P.E. instructors who play a significant role in youth development.”

At the Vermosa Active Revolution press launch, guests were treated to a head start of what to expect during the two-day event, as well as a sneak peek of the special line-up of performers headlined by Drop and Roll, led by world-renowned street trials rider Danny MacAskill and his crew, to highlight their first visit to the Philippines and the Asian region as part of their world tour.
Gear up for an active lifestyle revolution

Various cycling clinics and bike rentals for the two-day event will also be available at the Vermosa Bike Skills Park, while the motocross track will host an activity for riders. The Ninja Academy will also mount a parkour obstacle course for festival goers to try out together with other surprises, while a poi LED exhibition performance by Planet Zips will cap-off a night of fun-filled activities.
The Inspire Zone will host one of the South’s biggest sports and lifestyle expos, where attendees can jumpstart their active living through great deals and finds from the country’s hottest retail brands such as JB Sports, KTM Bikes, Fox Gear, Columbia, Top Bike Shops, and many more.
The Refresh Zone will provide good eats and sound beats to revitalize one’s mind, body, and soul. And with acoustic artists and DJs to keep the celebration alive, as well as food truck concessionaires rolling in at Cavite’s first Gastro Food Truck Park to energize the festival goers, the Vermosa Active Revolution will truly be a one-of-a-kind, pre-Christmas present for everyone.
