Looking Forward To 2012

Last year, there were a handful of minimalist/barefoot shoes that came into the market.  Some were good.  Some were a little disappointing.  This year, we expect the same amount of enthusiasm that we've seen in 2011.  And there's two shoes that I can't wait to see - Merrell Barefoot Road Glove and Vibram SeeYa

If Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove is for trails (isn't it obvious?) then the Road Glove is one created for us road warriors.  The reason why I am excited is that this version has a lower profile.  On paper it says - 4 mm compression molded EVA midsole.  I am crossing my fingers that they don't make any thicker since I like better ground feel which I couldn't get from the Trail Gloves. Heard from the grapevine that it'll arrive on our shores very soon ;)

I started to hate VFFs when they begun producing those 5-toed shoes with thick midsoles. I thought the FiveFingers were made with a barefoot lifestyle in mind but what's with the extra protection? Among their initial offering, only MOC and PERFORMA appealed to me because of its flexibility and superb ground feel

KSO (5.5mm, 5.7oz), Bikila (7mm, 6oz), Speed (6mm, 5.9oz), or Komodo Sport (6mm, 7.1oz) could not tickle my fancy. Then here comes SeeYa. Seems that they were able to capture all the good attributes MOC has and created this 3.5 4.8oz footwear.  SeeYa could bring back the love.  Hmmm....
