Happy Birthday Singapura!

August 9 2012. Celebrated Singapore's 47th birthday with a 5-mile recovery run. It has been 10 days since I did my full marathon race. Normally I would've covered at least 9 miles and only allowing myself with 2 days of rest. However I was mandated by Meowth to take a full week of rest. I cheerfully obliged

It was already 8 o'clock in the evening when I donned my Minimus Trail.  Yup! I took it for a spin for the first time.  Since I left my hr watch at home, I was going to run based on feel.  The stoplights served as my breaks.  I was doing quite well on my first half.  Form and breathing was spot on.  Though my heart rate was elevated, it wasn't a concern

I was on my 3rd mile when my calves said "hi!"  They were working overtime.  I guess this is what I deserve for going beyond a week with no roadwork.  In my final stretch, I felt a minor sting on my right knee. Nothing serious. Will have another slow run this weekend. Maybe 9 miles if I got lucky

I need to get back in shape soon. I still have 11 more weeks for another full marathon (Run United Philippine Marathon)  Plenty of time.  I pray that the weather will cooperate for the weeks to come so I won't miss any of my training runs.
